A Cruising Racer – Dufour 36 Performance

Dufour Yachts has remained true to their traditional business philosophy. They has presented one more yacht that perfectly balances comfort and performances – Dufour 36 Performance.

Dufour 36 Performance

Throughout 2013 Dufour 36 Performance attracted her fans both among leisure and racing sailors. Thanks to innovative design by Umberto Felci and Dufour Design, this yacht is very easy to handle and fun to sail.

A large and wide cockpit holds removable storage spaces and a twin–tiller helm, ending with folding transom/swim platform. The bow volume is bigger for upwind performance, while a deep rudder and T-bulb keel guarantee a great deal of stability.

The deck has with six winches, a split mainsheet system, and a retractable carbon or aluminum spirit while all sail controls are ergonomical and are easy to adjust and control. Such setup suggests that purpose of this yacht is not only easy-going holiday cruise but competitive racing as well.

The interior looks spacious and larger than it really is thanks to modern lines and handy arrangement. There is a V-berth in the front cabin which can easily become a storage for spinnaker and gennaker when racing. Saloon has full-length settees on its sides while chart table is starboard, opposite to the kitchen. The dining table is foldable, making a saloon a large bedroom when folded. Settees hide pretty large and handy storage spaces to keep in shape gear and supplies when sailing the rough sea.

Aft cabin to the port has double berth while the space opposite to the starboard could be arranged as a wet closet or as an extension of a bathroom or as another bedroom.

Dufour 36 Performance is equipped with saildrive and a 30-horse power Volvo diesel engine while the 40-horse power is optional. Length overall of 10.97m and a maximum beam of 3.61m. It is in combination with 17.58 m high mast and mighty sails make this baby pretty fast and agile.

I wish you a calm sea, a fine wind and a strong mast!
