ACI Piškera as the Pit-Stop for Kornati Explorers

ACI marina Piškera found its place in the heart of Kornati archipelago, sheltered from the open sea by the islet Panitula and from the NE bura by islet Jadra. It is equipped with some 120 berths for yachts up to 30 m and draft between 2.5 and 3.5 m, available from April to October.

Yachts longer than 25 m can find their place only at the reception pier while those whose draft exceeds 2.5 m should moor at the ends of piers A, B, C, or D. Fresh water and electricity supplies are available between 8 and 10 a.m. and from 6 to 12 p.m.

There is a decent toilet and shower area just above the reception desk where recent weather report is provided as well as the currency exchange service. In addition, there is a pleasant terrace nearby that belongs to the restaurant. Cold drinks and fine wines are served in the afternoon before the kitchen opens for supper.

Local fishermen bring their daily catch to the restaurant, so you can often find fresh fish on the menu. In case you finished all your provision on board you should expect nothing more than basic food supplies at the grocery store within the marina. Since ACI Piškera is located next door to the open sea, moderate to strong NW and W winds are occasionally expected which causes problems when landing.

Still, nights at Piškera are usually calm and romantic because the stars at the sky are much brighter than usually due to the lack of city lights miles around. The view to the billow and cliffs of Kornati is marvelous from the top of the hill that rises over the marina. On the other hand, Piškera had been the most developed remote fisherman settlement since the ancient times so there are some historical monuments at Jadra islet along with church which is still in function.

The atmosphere becomes very lively on the last Sunday in July when inhabitants of Sali and other islands of Zadar archipelago visit this place to give honor to St. Mary.

There is no doubt that nothing compares to the night spent at the anchor in Kornati but overnight stay at ACI Piškera also has its advantages, especially in case of unstable weather. The view from the hill over the marina provides one of the most spectacular sunsets at the entire Adriatic: the huge sea-surface takes orange and scarlet sun into its silver embrace while sharp cliffs of Kornati whiteness this marriage before the reign of night darkness garnished with falling stars…
