Xc concept from the renowned Danish shipyard, the X-Yachts, was born in order to fulfill the need of the market for vessels built for long distance cruising. Therefore, the major characteristics of the Xc concept were the decrease of dependency on docking in ports and marinas, increased maneuverability and maritime abilities under motoring regime, easy handling under sails, uncompromisingly safety; and above all, quality in every single detail.
All storage spaces and compartments were enlarged as well as the engine power, the generator space, fresh water and fuel tanks capacities. The deck equipment was dimensioned accordingly, while jib sheet traveler tracks were moved in order to provide more comfortable and safer moving up and down the deck. Six years after launching the first vessels within the Xc range, X-Yachts decided to launch two new, redesigned models from the same range.
All lights below and above deck are equipped with LED bulbs while natural lighting of the interior is increased with fitting the larger windows and hatches on the deck and broadsides. The new keel shape has increased the stability while the functionality of the layout is increased by enlargement of the stern platform and by implementing the additional storages in the cockpit.It is the Xc 42 and Xc 45 which were designed according to feedback from the owners of Xc models. Some technical characteristics were modified in line with their own development results, some new options and possibilities were introduced in line with the market demands while basic prices were consolidated. The optional teak fitting is available for the gunwale, broadsides and superstructure as well as new hull colors and bimini fabrics.
The interior is also redesigned in order to increase functionality and comfort so new closing mechanisms are implemented in the galley furniture, cupboards and other storage spaces are bigger, providing enough space for an optional microwave oven and espresso machine. Shelves on the sides of the saloon have adjustable book holders; the navigation chart table is bigger and more practical than on previous Xc models while the master bedroom is equipped with additional drawers below the bed.
Redesigned Xc models Xc 42 and Xc 45 will be introduced during the autumn/winter season of 2014/2015 within the leading world’s boat shows.
