Biograd

Sailing with My Friends

My friends and I participated in the very first regatta of 2016 in Croatia. The race took place in the town of Biograd. Due to bad weather, only a handful of other participants appeared, but we had great fun nevertheless. Read about our adventure!

Biograd

Biograd Boat Show

Biograd Boat Show has been traditionally held at Marina Kornati in Biograd na moru in Croatia. This year would take place its 15th addition while its organizers expect it to be the best so far: the exhibition halls have been expanded which makes this year’s exhibition space the largest ever, more motor yachts over 50 feet than ever while charter companies will display over 500 yachts available for charter next season.

Starting and Ending a Year with a Boat Race

If you are a sailor and you are spending the end of a year on the Croatian coast, the best way to do so is, of course, by sailing. There is a Christmas regatta that takes place annually and starts from the nautical center, Biograd, with its race course taking the competitors all the way to the town of Zadar. In 2015, the Christmas regatta had a special charity nature. If you are ending the year on the race course, you might as well start the new one under sails. Every year, Biograd organizes St. Anastasia Regatta (regata Sv. Stošije). It’s one one of the most relevant regattas in Croatia and one which guarantees an incredible racing experience!

St Nicholas

St Nicholas: Busy Weekend for Croatian Sailors

St Nicholas’ Day is a busy day on the Croatian coast, especially if it falls on a weekend. St Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, seafarers and fishermen, which is why many sailing events are organized in his honor across the Adriatic. Some of the most interesting events include the 16th edition of Šibenik Regatta, St Nicholas’ Regatta in Biograd and one of the same name in Split. These races attract the best Croatian sailors and are some of the most demanding regattas in the Adriatic.
