Some of the
major brands or manufacturers on the market for catamarans
are Lagoon, Leopard, Privilege, Nautitech, and Fountaine Pajot.
These are big catamaran makers, especially for the huge charter
business.
Lagoon is the overall leader in sales. This is
a French company and they manufacture their boats in France. The
most popular charter models range from 38 feet to 42 feet in
length. They also build catamarans up to 67 feet long. Lagoon
participates in as many boat shows as possible. The hulls Lagoon
builds tend to be narrower. Lagoon catamarans are more designed for
the charter business, where they can fit 4 cabins onboard for 4
couples and make as much rental income as possible.
Leopard makes boats that are pretty similar in
size and look to the Lagoon ones, but has a size range from 39 feet
to 47 feet in length. Leopard is a South African company, and also
design for the charter market with a similar layout and living
area. Leopard is an offshoot of Robertson and Caine, and long
established catamaran maker in that country.
Fountaine Pajot is another French company that
has been building production cruising catamarans since 1983. They
offer a size range from 36 feet to 65 feet in length. This is also
a hugely popular charter catamaran brand. The brand offers lots of
luxury and extra options so there is a lot to be satisfied with
when chartering a Fountaine Pajot catamaran.
Opt for one of these most popular charter
catamarans and you have a beautiful charter holidays ahead.
