Is It Better to Sail in Spain or Malta?

Are you planing to sail in Malta? Malta is an ideal destination for a relaxed sailing holiday and especially attractive to those sailing enthusiasts who love sailing the open seas. Because of its size and the proximity of surrounding islands, Malta is perfect for combining a yacht charter with visits ashore.

Located at the crossroads of the Mediterranean and renowned for their beautiful beaches, Malta and the nearby islands of Gozo, Comino and Cominotto make a fairly attractive yacht charter spot.

Sailing around Malta on a charter yacht, you can visit St Julian's Harbour, St Paul's island and the picture-perfect fishing harbor of Marsaxlokk on the south of the island. Then set off towards the islands of Gozo, Comino and Cominotto with their pristine beaches and caves. The charming Gozo is the second biggest island. Compared to Malta, Gozo is relatively quiet but definitely it is worth a visit ashore. Comino is excellent for swimming in the famous Blue Lagoon. This beautiful spot is also an excellent shelter for anchoring at night. The Blue Lagoon makes a perfect base for sailing around the Maltese Islands returning for an evening dip in the pristine waters of the lagoon.

On the other hand, if you want to sail in Spain you should know that Spain cannot be compared to Malta in size. Spain as a yacht charter destination offers a lot because of more than 4000 km of coastline. Also there are more 200 yacht charter harbors spread across both its Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. Sailing in Spain and its Mediterranean coast focuses on two island groups - the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. The Balearic Islands include Ibiza, Mallorca (Majorca), and Menorca and are located just off the Spanihs mainland.

Due to its excellent geographical position, rich cultural and historical heritage, mild climate, and local cuisine Spain is one of the most popular yacht charter spots. One can choose between more than one hundred marinas and ports along the Spanish coast, and many beaches, 450 of which have been awarded the Blue Flag. Decide on a yacht charter in Spain and sail off to an unforgettable adventure.
