Departing towards the island Hvar and town
Jelsa
In the 15th century Jelsa developed into a port of Pitve, the oldest small town on the island, cca 3 km far away from Jelsa. Among cultural and historical sights, many parks, town squares and churches are worth seeing: Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (14th ct.), Church of St. John (15th ct.), situated on one of the most beautiful Dalmatian Renaissance–Baroque squares, Church of St. Michael (15th ct.) and Church of St. Rocco (16th ct.)… Strolls along narrow town streets, along the coast surrounded by pine trees or along the valleys full of Mediterranean vegetation and medicinal herbs are quite pleasant.
