If visiting the town, you’ll be astonished by the beauty of old stone houses as well as many Romanesque and Renaissance buildings, among which the Fortress of the poet Petar Hektorovic, a summer residence with a fish-pond surrounded by beautiful gardens, is the most prominent. Near the summer residence there is a Renaissance church of St. Rocco (16th century) and a Baroque church of St. Stephen (17th/18th ct.) with a separate bell-tower. The Dominican monastery from the 15th century contains a great number of valuable things, dating from times of the Illyrians and Greeks until nowadays.
