Louis Vuitton Cup 2013 Has Been Concluded in Favor of Kiwi Fans!

Winning the Louis Vuitton Cup in terms of top performance sailing means that the winner takes the honor to challenge the defender of previous America’s Cup. Emirates Team New Zealand won this Cup second consecutive time beating Italy’s Luna Rosa Challenge by 7 to one wins. The same competitors have met also in the finals of previous Louis Vuitton Cup held in 2007.

Mrduja Regatta

Mrduja Regatta is the oldest and second biggest regatta in Croatia. It takes place in the first weekend in October, signifying the end of summer and marking the beginning of the racing season. The regatta starts from Split, passes between the islands of Brač and Hvar and then turns back. The winner of the 84th edition was Mate Arapov, but, when it comes to Mrduja, it is not that much about competing as it is about participating and preserving the tradition.

The latest edition of America’s Cup is being sailed on ultra-modern AC72 catamarans using cutting edge technology and reaching some 40 knots of speed with the wind between 17 and 20 knots! Comparison between America’s Cup and sailing as we know it is like comparing Formula One to my first car.

Sailing Really Is a Royal Sport

British Royal couple, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge visited Auckland, New Zealand and took part in a race accompanied by the proud members of Emirates Team New Zealand. The Duchess at the helm of NZL41 with Dean Baker as a tactician won in the race against Prince William who was steering the NZL68 accompanied by Grant Dalton.
