Chartering a
catamaran is no different than chartering any other type of
yacht. Once you choose your yacht charter company,
see what catamarans they offer and pick the one that suits your
needs the best. In order to bareboat charter, you
need to have a reasonable amount of sailing experience on
similar sized boats combined with a sailing school
certificate.
If on the other hand, you have no experience and/or a permit, it
is also possible to choose a skippered or fully crewed
yacht charter.
However, if you need some reminding on how to
charter a catamaran, here are the details of the
procedure.
First you have to choose a catamaran with your
charter company. You will choose the yacht that best suits you and
your guests. Next you have to check the boat's availability for
your desired dates and destination of travel. This is important as
the yachts book up very quickly during high season.
If the dates are available, the boat will be reserved for your
preferred dates. You will then have to decide
whether you need a skipper or even entire crew. That depends on
your previous sailing experience and whether you have all the
necessary documents and permits for bareboat charter.
Once you settle all this - catamaran type, crewed or
bareboat charter, destination and itinerary, the boat is yours.
All you have to do is to pay a deposit, take care of the
provisioning and embark.
