Shaka – Mobile Wind/Weather Station In Your Hand
The latest revolutionary mobile weather station is presented by Estonian developers gathered around Shaka company. The devices known as Shaka Wind Meter and Shaka Weather Station were born in order to help enthusiasts and professionals in any sport where the wind and weather matter. The device looks like a small key chain in the shape of propeller, weighing just below 10 g, easily plugged into your smartphone’s standard 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The rest of the job regarding the measurements is done by the software which is available online as free application. The device is charged from the smartphone’s battery so you don’t have to worry about another charger and plugs. Shaka Weather Station accurately measures wind speed/air flow displayed in m/s, km/h, mph, knots, Bft, ft/s or ft/min.
Wind speed accuracy is ±3% when aligned with wind axis. Calibration drift amounts to < 1% after 100 hours of use at 7 m/s (16 mph).
Ambient temperature is measured within one minute and is displayed in range between -20 °C and + 60 °C (-4 to +140 °F) with temperature accuracy of ±1 °C/±1.8 °F. Relative humidity (RH) is measured within 8 s at 1 m/s airflow with accuracy of ±3.0% RH in the operating range between 0 to 100% RH. Air pressure is displayed in kPa, mmHg, inHg or mbar with accuracy of ±0.4 kPa within the calibrated range of 50 to 110 kPa.
Shaka Weather Station is fully compatible with iOS and Android devices and is always connected online so you can share your measurements with others and find the best conditions and position for whatever sport you are in – sailing, windsurfing, paragliding, golf, archery etc. Shaka Wind Meter functions in the same fashion as the Weather Station, but is limited only to wind speed, wind direction and temperature.
The devices are available online at www.shakaon.net for very favorable prices. Shipping and warranty are guaranteed. With mobile weather station you do not have to rely on regional weather forecasts because you can read weather according to your micro location measurements.
I wish you a calm sea, a fine wind and a strong mast!
