Glamour and Jet Set Only – Porto Montenegro

This time it is not the marina in Monte Carlo but the atmosphere and the visitors are very similar. Porto Montenegro is a luxury yacht homeport and marina village located in Tivat, Montenegro.

A great nautical potential of Tivat and surrounding gulf called Boka Kotorska was recognized since the earliest history. Throughout the centuries the rulers of Boka Kotorska have been changing but the importance of the gulf as nautical and maritime center never decreased. In recent history, Boka Kotorska and its resources are the target of wealthy investors due to its potential in terms of nautical tourism.

Several years ago Tivat and its mountainous surroundings attracted Canadian businessman Peter Munk, the Chairman of the world’s largest gold mining corporation Barrick Gold. Mr. Munk was visiting Adriatic aboard his yacht and took a day trip from Dubrovnik to Montenegro and Boka Kotorska. The result of his idea born during that day trip is the most luxurious marina at the Adriatic.

Tivat

As already mentioned, the marina has a perfect location inside the gulf of Boka Kotorska, protected by surrounding mountains from strong winds and storms; it is ideally situated between Venice and Corfu and offers full homeport solution for all sorts of yachts. It is equipped with some 250 berths ranging between 12 and 150 m LOA while new berths have already been announced.

Marina Porto Montenegro offers tax and duty-free fuelling service, refit, repair and maintenance services and round the clock security. Luxury accommodation is provided in Marina Village in top class residences and five-star hotel facilities offering panoramic sea views, pools and sundecks, luxury boutiques and brand stores, restaurants and lounge bars.

The privacy policy of Porto Montenegro Marina guarantees their guests full security and discretion while nightlife and leisure time abounds with interesting and vibrant events and entertainment. The idea of Mr. Munk did not change only the landscape of the gulf of Boka Kotorska, but the direction of development of this part of Adriatic. Porto Montenegro really became a must-visit for modern jet setters, but did not lose its traditional maritime orientation of historic Tivat and Boka Kotorska.

I wish you a calm sea, a fine wind and a strong mast!
