Iž – Where Small Things are Bigger than Large Ones

Zadar is one of the largest towns in Dalmatia, the historic coastal region of Croatia. It is a tourist and cultural center, and a great starting point for a sailing trip. One of the islands in its proximity that is definitely worth visiting is Iž. This small island with an unusual name comfortably lies between the larger Ugljan and Dugi Otok, and is one of the most interesting places in the region.

Losing the Rudder in the Middle of the Race

Loosing the rudder in the middle of a race is a very serious issue, especially when it happens during a difficult regatta. The regatta Jabuka is one of the most challenging sailing races in Croatia. It starts in the town of Vodice, in mid November at midnight, travels through the high seas and strong winds of the open sea, around the islet of Jabuka. It is both dangerous and exciting, and can present many dangers.
