Steve Callahan survived 76 days adrift on the Atlantic Ocean in a life raft. What helped him survive, among other things, was his ability to see the nice things in the worst situations – he described the night sky over the ocean as “A view of heaven from a seat in hell.”
Couple of years ago I was skippering a charter yacht with a young couple which was going to get married shortly. They invited two more couples – her best friend with husband and his best man with wife. Their mood was very cheerful and bright so was the weather forecast for that week.

The fish market in Split has recently been richer for two new seafood stands. The offer at these stands consisted of all sorts of plastic packages, bottle caps, Styrofoam boxes and syringes, all washed up on the shore from the sea. On June 2nd, 1870 captain Nikola Primorac, a sailor from Dubrovnik, started his voyage across the Atlantic ocean in a small boat, 6.09 m long and 1.82 m wide. He started in Liverpool, reached New York and went back to Liverpool, making him the first sailor to cross the Atlantic in both directions in the smallest boat in the world.
